This relates to the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substances Act, Cap. 254 and as communicated earlier, the ministry, in consultation with the Committee and the Leader of the Majority Party proposes that the amendment be dropped pending the introduction of a comprehensive Bill that will deal with the regulation of food and drugs in this country. This changes the name of the Act from the “Nurses Act” to the “Nurses and Midwives Act” so as to capture the midwifery profession which is also regulated by the Act. view
