This particular Bill seeks to introduce amendments to the insurance law to give the regulatory authority more powers to regulate the sector and ensure that insurance companies behave. Temporary Deputy Speaker, just a few weeks ago, the Tanzanian Government decided that it was going to increase the resident permit cost for foreigners, Kenya included. This was just a few weeks ago. For you to go and conduct business in Tanzania, it is becoming horrendous. As we speak, and this is something I actually confirmed before coming to this House, there is no corresponding domestication of the protocol to permit Kenyans to invest in banks and insurance companies in Tanzania.
