I am on a point of order, hon. Odhiambo-Mabona. The name “Muturi” refers to a Kenyan coming from a particular region, which has nothing to do with the Speaker.

When we interviewed Mr. Njee Muturi, we found that he comes from Nyeri County. We all know that the hon. Speaker does not come from Nyeri County. Is it in order for the hon. Member to allege that the Speaker comes from the same clan as Mr. Njee Muturi? In fact, I have a lot of respect for the hon. Member, but where she was leading to-- - I think she has her geography and ethnicity wrong. In fact, what she was saying is that-- -

I am on a point of order, hon. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the good hon. Member to claim that, in fact, you could be having some ties with the nominee, when she knows that you do not come from his clan, neither do you come from his tribe? Could she be ruled out of order? Maybe, she could have asked for more information from the Committee, which she can happily get. The report is very clear and it has the curriculum vitae of the nominee.

Hon. Speaker, I wish to reply. Since I am the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, it is important that I clarify some things. Hon. Hon. Speaker, Sir, I am sitting at a very strategic place, from where I can see hon. Chris Wakhungu properly. As alluded to by the hon. Member, he of course knows what the law states. Some parties will be moribund because they do not have any Member in this House. That notwithstanding, I think three weeks will be good enough time to respond. We are also seized of this matter.

Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. Arising from the guidelines that you have given, we had undertaken to give three Statements today in response to requests by hon. Koyi, hon. Sane and hon. Wandayi. We met the Attorney-General on Monday. He is expected to give us a written confirmation of what he stated today. You had directed that these Statements be brought to the House today; unfortunately, we are not able to get them. Could we provide these Statements to the respective hon. Members of Parliament on Tuesday?
