Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am told that Sen. M. Kajwang’ might be dealing with the balances in dowry, but they also take it through West Pokot.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am very grateful that we have an opportunity, as a tradition, to welcome our colleagues from Kericho and Kiambu counties. However, I would like to specifically thank my friends from Uganda. I do not have to belabour the point, because that is my second home.

The Senate Majority Leader himself has declared that, that is my second home. For starters, for my friends from Uganda, I went to Moroto and Nambale High Schools and then to Makerere University. So, that completes my journey. I agree with Sen. M. Kajwang’ about Uganda; but the only thing I did not do is to come back with a wife and children. However, I came back with education. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the importance of Uganda to us, in West Pokot County, cannot be gainsaid. The President of Uganda has really helped with the peace and security situation along the ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I join my colleagues and yourself in welcoming our brothers and sisters from the PAP. The Senate has a good tradition because we have the opportunity to share experiences with the PAP. I was privileged to have met them this morning when they had a chance to visit us during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Information and Technology. We not only exchanged a few words and niceties; but we also encouraged them that the Pan-African idea is still possible because of the existence of the PAP. We said that Africa should talk to herself and ...

Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. This is a Motion to adopt this Report. I am glad it has been canvassed thoroughly and I thank Members who have spoken to it. The Forum of Parliaments of the Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR), did not have a problem with Kenya’s candidate. As the Report says, we entered the candidacy late to begin with and then we did not comply and so, we missed an opportunity. However, because it is still possible that Kenya has another chance coming in future, we did not give up on ...

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I get a bit disturbed that we have prosecuted our business with points of order. If one point of order leads to another point of order and we are perpetually on points of order, we cannot move. This is basically directed to my own colleagues. Can we, please, find a standard way of getting attention on the point of order? I have seen people raise hands, stand up and raise legs. What are they doing? What is the standard way to get your attention so that we transact business in this House?

Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I stand to second this is a Motion on Adjournment that is very urgent and of national importance. One can only appeal to the people of Mt. Elgon, and Bungoma County as a whole, to stop destroying themselves by creating a situation where lawlessness prevails in the midst of poverty. Children cannot go to school and economic activity cannot happen, yet they consider themselves marginalized. I appeal for sanity to prevail. Those who think that they can live by causing this mayhem are not only causing problems to the families that they have destroyed, but ...
