Previous experience has shown that, in fact, we might get a lot more work and ground covered in Committee than in Plenary because of the issues that I have raised regarding the question of quorum. To conclude and allow my colleagues to also contribute, I rise to support this. It is not because I am a Member of this Committee. I would very happily cede this position to anybody else who wants to release me to go and have Christmas with my children. It will not be a bad thing. view

I think what they are inviting you to be is somebody who is breaking the rules of this House, and a power unto yourself. Under Standing Order No.267, there is a procedure for amendment of these Standing Orders.   • 24 Nov 2022 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker Sir. I was starting to get worried that you would not get to acknowledge our visitors from Emerald International School. I join you in welcoming them to the Senate. We had an interesting conversation with them this afternoon. I assure the House that they have enjoyed their time here. The school is situated in Dagoreti South. These children have very serious clarity of mind about the issues of the day. We have had a discussion about various things including the state of the road outside view

  • 24 Nov 2022 in Senate: their school which is just near Lenana School. If you have been there, you know that the road is in a very serious state of disrepair. There are concerns about what we are doing as a House to conserve the environment. Many of them have had an opportunity to visit the Nairobi National Park and they have told me that they would like to see that Park protected and sustained for future generations.
