  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, at this time, I am not privy to information on preparation by the Administration Police to buy helicopters. That information was not part of the requirements for this Ministerial Statement. I also wish to confirm that obsolete spares were not used for this particular overhaul. Indeed, Israeli Aerospace Industries is a reputed aviation organisation that mobilises various sub- contractors who dealt with the various parts of the aircraft during the overhaul of the airframe and aviation components. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: The other question was why buy another aircraft when we already have four aircraft. The fact of the matter is that the four aircraft are personnel careers. The aircraft that is proposed for purchase is to carry about six people. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the issues he is raising concern other aircraft. Mr. Chanzu had specific questions, which I will address. If I am required to come with answers with regard to other aircrafts, then I require more time. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will do so. I had not understood his question properly. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not privy to information as to whether there was insurance or not. There are questions I am not able to answer because investigation on the accident is just starting. I do not want to compromise the investigation that is ongoing. view

  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) The delay of death gratuity in respect of Ms. Asumpta Ndambuki - P/No.1990135188 was caused by the unavailability of two supporting documents that is, Death Certificate and Birth Certificate of her children. The two documents have been submitted and the death gratuity has been processed and forwarded to the Director of Pensions. In respect to Ms. Fillister Ndunge Ngumbi - P/No.1990081177, a letter was written to the next of kin on 24th February 2004 requesting for the submission of the following documents: (i) Original Death Certificate. (ii) A letter from the ... view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank Mr. Kiilu, because since he raised this Question, the matter has now been attended to. I explained that, in one case the documentation has now been forwarded to the Director of Pensions. For the second case, one or two documents are yet to be produced by the next of kin, but I am aware that Mr. Kiilu has a better network than myself, because he knows those people personally. I am sure that in the course of this week, if he gets the relevant documentation, I will process the pension. With regard ... view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, some documents are only available when somebody dies. You cannot find a death certificate before somebody dies, but the hon. Member is right that a number of documents are there. However, we do not always have document for the legal dependants, and file birth certificates of the dependants until a situation of this nature arises. view
