18 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
I can see my time is running out. I want to conclude by talking about issues of roads and highways. When one of the Committee Members was contributing right before me, he said that The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. the boda boda persons contribute to the construction of highways yet they do not use them. I agree with him 100 per cent. There are people who are down there in their villages with their livestock and are contributing to construction of highways that they do not use. So, we must be very careful in resource distribution and allocation.

9 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. From the onset, I want to appreciate and thank the Budget and Appropriations Committee. Under very difficult circumstances, locally and globally, the Committee was able to sit down and look at the issues that affect this country. We know we face a public health crisis. Having said that, I have some concerns particularly on my constituency. I want to thank and congratulate the Committee for the good work. The health sector should have been given the highest priority. Going through the Report of the ...

monitor the resources that we have. It cannot even go after the people stealing our resources because it does not have the capacity to go around the country. It is really important that when we prioritise our issues, we must look at the areas which will generate resources like mining. There are some countries that put all their budgets and resources on mining. 4 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Hon. Speaker, first, I would like to appreciate my Chairman who has worked very hard for Members here. I am a Member of the NG-CDF Committee. The Chairman of the Committee has gone around trying to see how to get resources from the Treasury and to ensure that resources are allocated to each and every constituency, bearing in mind that we are going through a very difficult time. There are a lot of challenges that are facing this country. Allocation of resources has become very difficult, but we are on top of everything and we are trying so hard to ...

the infrastructures in schools, roads, et cetera . There are a lot of challenges awaiting us in our various constituencies. With those few remarks, I ask the House to affirm the list and to support the Members of the NG-CDF Committee because we are trying and working round the clock. Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker.

2 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance to contribute to this Motion. I want, from the outset, to say that forming a select committee or ad hoc committees is a practice that has been practised even in this House. As my sister Hon. Millie Odhiambo has alluded, I was the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare in the Tenth Parliament. 2 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
I will adhere to your guidance. I am supporting. If you look at the list itself, it is biased. We have six women only, out of 23 Members. It is not really coming out well. Most of the people who are suffering are the elderly, women and children who are always attached to the mothers. We are the ones who are feeling the pinch. We have been going around this country discussing, giving out food and doing a lot of things but, when it comes to the composition of the committee, we have six women only. So, mine is that ...
