  • 24 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Speaker. I am rising on a point of order because hon. Kang’ata is misleading this House, bearing in mind that we have got Jamleck Kamau and Sabina Chege from Murang’a County. So, he is totally misleading the House and wasting its time. It is high time we moved ahead and make sure that Kenya is placed where it is supposed to be in our region. Thank you. view
  • 9 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, with all due respect, the hon. Member is not in order because we have already addressed that issue. We have summoned the Cabinet Secretary in charge of transport and infrastructure. We have also summoned the Principal Secretary and the newly appointed Chairman, former Member of this House, hon. Lee Kinyanjui. We have summoned all the persons concerned with national safety. We have cracked our whip only that we are compiling a report to bring to this House. Therefore, the hon. Member is not in order--- view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wish to thank hon. Bett for giving me two minutes and for moving the Motion. I come from a constituency where we depend mainly on farming and dairy farming is one of sources of income. This Motion is, indeed, very timely because in my constituency, I have five co- operative societies which are divided into various divisions. Most of them have collapsed simply because the prices of milk cannot sustain milk production in terms of animal feeds. If we were to talk about the increase in the price of milk, it will do ... view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: the officials who run them at the end of the day, embezzle funds. The laws that we have within the co-operative societies are not good enough to help us to nab them, so that farmers can get back their money. view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Yes, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I am winding up. One of our factories was closed down because of mismanagement and when we tried to take those people to court, we realised that the laws are not well established to take them to court. Hon. Bett should move forward and introduce a Bill on this. We should also look into the co-operative laws, so that our farmers can be protected and they can get value for their produce. view
  • 30 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I stood to seek clarification on very serious matters. I am seeking your guidance on issues pertaining to four Cabinet Secretaries who I would not like to mention their names who are supposed to appear before three Joint Committees of this House to answer issues of national importance and none of them appears. They just wrote a letter through the Clerk of the National Assembly, very disrespectful reply that we appear before them; something which I was not expecting. So I need to be guided. These are Cabinet Secretaries for Devolution, view

  • 25 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I require a very simple clarification from the Leader of Majority Party. He said that the CWRs would be overall. Could he clarify that bit? I cannot accept, in my situation, for the CWR to be overall. It cannot work! view
