She was the first girl from Isiolo County to study upto form six.

She is also the founder of the Foundation for Kenyan Women Pastoralist which lobbies universities to admit girls from disadvantaged communities for prestigious courses.

The county governments have been ill-prepared to take over the health services. Quite a number of counties do not have proper facilities to handle some of the emergencies that occur in their respective areas. Some hospitals in the counties lack medical personnel, equipment and facilities that can help communities.
