She was the first girl from Isiolo County to study upto form six.

She is also the founder of the Foundation for Kenyan Women Pastoralist which lobbies universities to admit girls from disadvantaged communities for prestigious courses.

Looking at my constituency, Isiolo, we have a lot of staff balancing issues because many of the teachers would not want to teach in schools in the rural areas because of hardships. Some of the hardships include lack of accommodation facilities for teachers and lack of communication. Many areas in my constituency lack mobile network coverage.   • 19 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: This is on the qualification of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). On this one, the Bill says that we should have 10 years. However, the Committee proposes that we should have five years because this is a new field. Many of the people who will apply will be locked out. So, for that purpose, the Committee decided that we have five years’ experience for the CEO and not 10. view
