Secondly, before we concentrate on treatment, how do we go about creating awareness so that we can avoid contacting cancer in our country? An example is my constituency. When you go to mining sites in my constituency, there is still wide use of mercury in the area. We have made a lot of noise but the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is sleeping. I even talked to the NEMA people but they are not doing enough to help us eradicate mercury usage in our country, which means a good percentage of our people are still exposed to cancerous bacteria and ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the Irrigation Bill and the creation of an authority. I am a Member of Parliament residing in Nyatike Constituency where we have a scheme called the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme where the Government has invested Kshs1 billion. There is a proposal by the Government to create a dam which would ...

Nyatike is a constituency bordering Tanzania and Uganda, in the lake. I am happy with the Motion that is here today because Nyatike, being one of the constituencies bordering these two countries, has a number of challenges. Our main preoccupation or source of livelihood has mainly been fishing, but the industry is currently dead because of interference from our bordering countries, mainly from ...

I want to assure my people that during the period I am going to represent them here, I will do my best to make them proud as Kenyans and ensure that the flag of Uganda will no longer be in my constituency again. I want to pray that the boundary of Kenya and Uganda be clearly marked, the way my brother Amolo Otiende has said. It is a real problem because our The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor.

fishermen in Nyatike have their sale in Uganda not in Kenya. The Kenyan police have really failed to bring sanity in the lake.
