  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I think you have answered him. I am not going to weigh into it. • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: in this country but I stand here as the Member of Parliament for Nyatike. I talk on behalf of the people I represent. The money we are talking about is for the people of Kenya. We are now crying aloud that this money is not doing a tangible job for our people and we want to see real development. I was interrupted when I was talking about the issue of centralising the issues of Human Resource (HR) in the county governments. There is nothing to be desired in how we handle HR issues in the counties. We cannot have counties ... view
  • 1 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to ask Question No.221/2021 which is directed to the Ministry of Devolution and Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, but I think it was supposed to be the Ministry of Environment. (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary state the total number of flood-related incidences responded to by the Government or its agencies and the amount of funds expended to mitigate them in Nyatike Constituency since 2010? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary further clarify whether the amount allocated for construction of dykes along River Kuja in Nyatike Constituency has been fully utilised, what is the status of the ... view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this issue of our good workers at Kwale. Listening to the Report, I want to support it but with a number of issues, especially the issues raised touching on the workers. Those who know me will know that I have been in the trade union movement for The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: the better part of my working life. When I see a worker being oppressed, I really feel it. This is because we have come across a number of cases in this country where our own people become slaves in our own country. For instance, today we are talking about an investor. This investor we are talking about is a foreigner who has come to invest in our country. At the same time, the person is violating our laws in our own country and yet, no one is taking action on them. By not paying workers after getting a court order ... view
  • 23 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Allow me to support the Report on the Supplementary Estimates II presented by the Budget and Appropriations Committee. I have two issues of concern which I wanted to raise after supporting. When you look at the pending bills that we are talking about here, most of them in the ministries alongside the consumption rate are somehow stage-managed. If the Treasury is not releasing money to the ministries, ministries have nothing to spend. So, as much as we are budgeting and appropriating money to the ministries and the budget to the Government… If you go ... view

  • 9 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to appreciate the Report given by the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. The Report is very detailed and well done. I only want to thank you for what you have brought back to the House. However, I want to request your Committee to do a follow-up so that the said police stations should not just remain in the Statement, but are effected and made effective on the ground. When you look at the way they have been put, there are no timeframes and we may wait for the police ... view
  • 9 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: On the issue of the border between Homa Bay and Migori counties, I think the finding on the issue related to tax might be true, but we need to go further. The Report has recommended that the House should commission an inquiry or a commission of inquiry to bring a permanent solution to this problem. I think that will go a long way to help us solve these problems once and for all. For now, the challenge which has been thrown to us as the leaders is to try and bring peace in the two localities. I think we are ... view
  • 9 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: My last appeal to the Committee is that when you look at the areas they are talking of doing patrol in the market, all police stations in Nyatike and I am sure even in Suba, have no police patrol vehicles. I do not know if they will patrol on boda bodas . I do not know what they will do to ensure that peace is maintained in the market. view
