Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to commend you for noticing that Senator for Laikipia. Sen. Kinyua jumped two counties to get to Murang’a. I take this opportunity to welcome Members of the Murang’a County Assembly. The Senator for Murang’a County, Sen. Joe Nyutu is away on official duty. He had told me that they are coming. However, thank you. I would like ...

The devolved units in the last ten years have been able to achieve life changing economic empowerment in the communities to the local counties. In absence of misappropriation and mismanagement of the funds allocated to the county governments, Kenya would be quite far in terms of community development. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support the Statement by Sen. Mbugua. It is indeed one of the requirements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we mainstream all the vulnerable in the society. The case is not only isolated in one school in Oljororok. In Nyeri County where I come from, the special needs school has been faced with numerous challenges, including staffing, equipment and infrastructure development. It is important that as the Committee on Education that is chaired by the Senator for Murang’a looks into this, they should go a step further and request the information ...
