I agree with my colleague, the Senator for Narok, that we must plan our future cities to accommodate both current and future generations. Successful Governments have been unable to make this unpopular decision to protect the riparian land.   • 29 May 2024 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I give notice of the following Motion addressing the challenge of power purchase agreement renewals and electricity supply in Kenya- THAT, AWARE THAT on 29th March 2021, a Presidential Taskforce was formed to review power purchase agreements between the Government and Independent Power Producers (IPPs), during which a moratorium was imposed on Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), preventing KPLC from signing new agreements or renewing existing ones with Independent Power Producers, which moratorium was lifted by the Cabinet in March 2023.   • 29 May 2024 in Senate: NOW THEREFORE notwithstanding the resolution of the National Assembly that imposed a moratorium on Kenya Power whose timeline has lapsed, the Senate, in order to cushion Kenyans from the high cost of electricity, resolves: (i) that the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and Kenya Power and Lighting Company be allowed to enter into new power purchase agreements or renew existing power purchase agreements with IPPs; and, (ii) that the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) fast tracks the acquisition of necessary licenses required by IPPs with valid power purchase agreements for setting up power plants.   • 23 May 2024 in Senate: Using the e-platform there is a possibility to use a doctor in India to conduct an operation using technology that is used in the UK. This will ensure that we get maximum benefits of our health services while ensuring that the cost benefit is also ascertained. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, we know that this country is one of the many in Africa that suffers from low technology. Therefore, the application of e-Health, will ensure the transferability and mobility and application of e-services through Artificial Intelligence (AI) is enhanced. However, I would want to enrich his understanding of project management and initiation in the spirit of one Kenya. It has been said and truthfully so, that Sen.
