  • 5 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. Indeed, this is a very good Bill which I would like to support because it is a flagship of Vision 2030. If it is implemented, it can be Vision 2020 or earlier. This is one way of creating jobs which will bring financial freedom to this country. I foresee a country whose political arena will dramatically change. People with financial freedom are independent in their thinking. With regard to job creation, people will be engaged. They will no longer be idle or wait for politicians to speak ... view
  • 5 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: In 10 to 20 years, we shall do away with affirmative action because everyone will be operating from the same economic platform. Economic and financial freedom is key to the development of this country, which I foresee if this Bill is passed. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thank you very much. I hope to see this Bill passed very soon so that it can contribute to the development of our country. Thank you. view
  • 30 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support this Sessional Paper. I am glad this Paper is here because we are all aware of how skilled labour has not been marching with the opportunities in this country. Time and again, we have had cases of abuse and mistreatment mainly of our girls who go for domestic jobs in Saudi Arabia and other Arabian countries. That is because of few opportunities available in the country. With this Sessional Paper in place, we will have a data-base which will create harmony and enhance coordination. It is not so clear why ... view
  • 30 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: This is one of the best sessional papers that have been presented in this Parliament. Opportunities could also be available if the Government provided exciting opportunities for the graduates to be self-employed. I want to see entrepreneurship opportunities for those who do not opt to go for white-collar jobs. Today, some professionals do not get into entrepreneurship by choice because they lack opportunities view
  • 7 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I have been in the union for a long time and I can see the Leader of the Majority Party is thinking that I am being congratulated on the same course. Hon. Speaker, allow me, in a second, to join Hon. Millie in congratulating Hon. Mwaura. view
  • 7 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No. 33(1), I would like to seek leave to move the adjournment of the House for purposes of discussing the ongoing crackdown on illicit brews in the country, and especially in Central Kenya. view
  • 7 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, in the recent past, there has been concerted effort by members of the public to dismantle production and supply of illegal beers. Easy access to cheap illegal beers has resulted in the diminishing capacity and reduced lifespan of the citizens, especially the youth. They have weakened the fabric of the society, slowed down the economy and increased insecurity among other social ills. The crackdown has been welcomed by the local communities affected and many positive effects are expected. I, therefore, seek for adjournment of the House to discuss this ongoing crackdown on illegal brews as it is an ... view

  • 7 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I rise under Standing Order No.33(1). I beg if the Leader of the Majority Party could be with me. I seek leave to move the adjournment of the House for the purpose of discussing the ongoing crackdown on illicit brews in the country especially in the central part of Kenya. view
