  • 21 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am aware that some residents of Migori County had erected illegal bumps along Road A1 from Rongo to Isebania. My Ministry, through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has removed all the illegal bumps. The Ministry is doing everything possible to minimize accidents on our roads and where we have identified that bumps will lead to reduction of the accidents, we shall not hesitate to do so. • 21 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we are currently working on the shoulders of the road and as soon as possible. Before the end of this year, we will, probably, embark on that exercise. view
  • 12 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mhe. Kwetu sisi, ... view

  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: I had effectively executed the answer except for one part where you instructed that I quote the amount of money that my Ministry had requested Parliament to approve for this project. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. My Ministry through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has set aside Kshs24 million for the periodic maintenance of the Kyuluni-Mwitika Road, otherwise referred to as C96, in the proposed Budget for the Financial Year 2012/2013. Thank you. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, Ngai Ndethya is part of this road but since the Member wants to get specifics, I talked about Kshs3.5 million that had been set aside for the repair of this road. Actually, there is a balance of Kshs6.1 million still to be used on this road and the work is in progress. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, if my memory serves me right I think I have attempted to answer that question but I will repeat it. Apart from--- view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for the advice. Apart from the Kshs6.1 million that we are going to spend on the same road, we have requested Parliament to approve Kshs24 million for the purpose of the whole road; part of it will be spent on the Ngai Ndethya area. view
  • 30 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) Yes, I am aware that a number of roads including bridges and culverts have been severely damaged in the recent flash floods in Gwassi Constituency and are in great need of urgent repair. (b) My Ministry is assessing the damage caused by the ongoing rains in the whole country, Gwassi Constituency included, after which we will determine the resources required for the urgent repairs. In the meanwhile, the Kenya Rural Roads Authority has set aside Kshs50 million for the repair and maintenance of Mbita-Karungu Road otherwise referred to as D210. I also ... view
  • 30 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is urgent. We are just waiting for the soil structure to be firm enough for construction for our machinery to move in immediately. view
