  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: My Ministry has not made plans to build a bridge because a drift would be adequate, given that the water flow is seasonal. Nevertheless, since the mentioned drift falls under a road that is being maintained using the funds from the Roads Maintenance Levy, the District Roads Committee should prioritise it for reconstruction during this financial year. An additional Kshs400,000 has been issued to the District Roads Engineer, Mumias, to undertake ... view
  • 25 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am very much aware of that suggestion last year. Indeed, I did make that promise. However, the decision on which projects get money is a prerogative of the Minister for Finance, depending on how much he has in the Exchequer. Unfortunately, that is the situation. We have to accept it. However, I am thinking about it and as I have mentioned, I will do something about it. view
  • 25 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, whereas that is a completely different question, may I pass my condolences to the family and friends of the people who lost their lives on the road. I have taken the sentiments of the hon. Member and I will see what I can do in that area of Mariakani. view
  • 25 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, of course not. That is why a consultant has been hired to do a feasibility study and give the proper information on the building of this road to bitumen standard. view
