• 17 Nov 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, could you hear me out? My chairing of the Committee of the Whole was not intended to raise any controversy. If Members of this House are not happy and have raised points of order to that effect; that the vote be repeated, I will not give the report to the House. The Standing Orders have a provision under Standing Order No.1 for a Speaker to decide an issue that has no written regulations, recommendations or advice by our own Standing Orders. • 12 Nov 2015 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. Three Senators have already resented to inclusion of their names in this Committee which has been proposed to the House as a notice of Motion. Would I be in order to request that this notice is withdrawn and a new one tabled? view
• 12 Nov 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. I respect your ruling, but this is a House of record. Let it be known that today we have actually carried out an illegality by allowing the Deputy Majority Leader to issue that Statement, when the Senate Minority Leader is in the House. Even if he were not in the House, the Deputy Majority Leader would not still have been allowed to read the statement unless he in the relevant Committee. I want that to be on record because it is important. view
• 11 Nov 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, maybe the consultations were a bit loud, I could not hear much but there is something that the Chairperson has to clarify on the request for the amount of revenue collected by the reserve. His answer was that he could not get that figure from the national Government. I do not think a Committee can only get such information from the national Government. If it were so, other committees like Health would not be able to work. Could the Chairperson give us that figure or tell us whether he is in the process of getting the total ... view
• 11 Nov 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, evidently the answer was quite inadequate. The Chairperson himself has said he still has to write to the Controller of Budget to get that information. Would I, therefore, be in order to ask that this Statement be deferred to a later date for a proper answer? view

Could this be the writing on the wall? What powers does the Cabinet Secretary (CS) have to order for an arrest? Could that be answered in the statement? view
