  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is “the Minister”. Is it in order for the Minister to tell the House that it is Government policy, yet the Ministry is issuing permits for small jobs? Secondly, is there a situation where foreigners are working in this Republic without work permits? Are there jobs that do not require work permits for foreigners? view

I will be available on Tuesday and, hopefully, the Prime Minister should consult the Ministry ... view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government:- (a) whether he is aware that Karuri Town Council un-procedurally dismissed 38 council employees on 7th June, 2007; (b) why the council has not complied with the court’s order in case No.80 of 2006 to reinstate all the 38 employees and pay retirement benefits to employees who have attained the mandatory retirement age; and, (c) when the council will comply with the court order and why most local authorities are habitually defying court orders. view

My simple understanding of the law is that unless they have a stay of execution under Rule 5 of the Court of Appeal, they ought to have complied. So, why are they not complying and yet, they do not have a stay of execution? In other words, why ... view
