  • 10 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I join my colleagues and the entire country, on my own behalf and that of my family and the people of Chesumei, to convey my condolences to the family of Moi and Kenyans in general. It is very difficult to forget the late President because, one, Baraton University was established because of President Moi. The Nyayo Tea Zones were also established because of President Moi. He was also an alumniof Kapsabet Boys’ School and every time he stood at the assembly atthe Kabarak High School, he encouraged us. I cannot forget that. He taught ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. From the outset, I support the Motion on the President’s Address which came at the right time when the whole country doubted whether we are moving in the right direction or not. The assurance the President gave came at the right time. He gave a lot of hope to our people. I want to appreciate the fact that he kept on repeating that the country is moving in the right direction, the nation is strong and the economy is strong. He kept on talking about not turning back. I want to appreciate him for ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: What is critical for this country is the rule of law. Many times we have tried our level best to give guidance and direction to this country. One area that we have failed to observe is on the rule of law and that is why we do not seem to be moving. view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: On matters of the economy, I want to appreciate that he indicated how the economy is growing. At the same time, even if we talk about the many good figures that we see, as given by those who are in charge, I believe if there is no money in the pockets of people, you cannot talk about a good economy. I urge the President, on the measures that are being put into place, that if only they could translate to having money in the pockets of people, then it will be great. He mentioned many good things in his Address. ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: curriculum, it should be done in such a way that it benefits us and gives direction to this country. It is out of education that you can get what we wish to see in our economy. Education is important and I wish we can put more resources in it. Thank you, “Madam” Speaker. view
  • 18 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. After listening to Members who have already contributed, I am really convinced that we need to support these bilateral agreements. As a country, we have a number of challenges and I believe that this is one way that we can move and ensure that we benefit our people. Trade and tourism are critical and important. They are one way of adding value to this country. This is the direction we need to take for the sake of improving the welfare of our people. I am convinced that research was done on these instruments so ... view
  • 24 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker and my neighbour Hon. Caleb Kositany. I believe the experiences he has been facing in his constituency are not very different from mine in Chesumei Constituency. For example, the experiences we face in our schools like, Mulago Adventist, which stands on 0.3 acre and has 300 pupils and Tuloi Primary school which has 800 pupils and stands on half an acre of land are the same. Also Mwein Primary school has 1,251 pupils and stands on one acre of land. When you look at all these, it means a lot to the development of ... view
  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I appreciate this Motion. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: If what I see in Chesumei is anything to go by, then we need to declare cancer as a disaster in our country. We have lost many people for quite some time. If you look at the statistics, they show that there is an increase in the number of patients and those who have lost their lives because of this menace. As other colleagues have mentioned, people have lost lives. Some of them were very productive members of this country and others the breadwinners of their families. Unfortunately, currently, we have had to support even the children of those families ... view
