  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You know I am directly affected. Could we, therefore, ask for your direction? That is because those people cannot stay there. They have been there for the last 15 years. The Ministry is still waiting for “God knows what”! He comes all the way from Nairobi to work in Pokot County. What steps has he in put ... view
  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to say that a contract of Kshs10 million cannot be handled by anybody coming from Pokot or Trans Nzoia counties? After all, there are bigger projects being undertaken by the locals. Is he in order to mislead the House? view
  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, now that the construction has been done and the Minister has given some conditionalities of following up, I want him to confirm to this House that come what may, in the next procurement, we will also procure things from within the county. The procurement should be done within the district and not from the Ministry. This is an opening for corruption. Why should it be done in Nairobi when we have procurement officers in Pokot County? view
  • 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation:- (a) whether she is aware that the people of Utawala Estate and the adjacent Mavoko area in Machakos County have no clean piped water, and, (b) what plans the Ministry has in place to provide clean water to the residents of that locality? view
