  • 30 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Education should be considered for all the elective positions. It should not be an exception in Parliament. During the election day, women do not usually participate because some of them are busy picking tea, coffee, and going to the market. The election day should be made a public holiday. We should also decongest our polling stations. They should be accessible to all people because many people do not vote because of not accessing them. The long queues also demoralise people. view
  • 30 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: The Bible says: “Time and chance belong to us all.” All of us have equal time and chance. We should have a level playing ground for everybody. The university degree requirement should be applied to both women and men. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to join members in supporting this Bill. It is a very important Bill in this country. We are here to implement the Constitution. It is a requirement of the Constitution that we support this two-thirds gender rule. Let us go back to creation when God was creating this world. It is written in the Bible that God created man and woman. This means that where there is a man, there must be a woman. He also said that it is not good for a man to live alone. According ... view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. We are not talking about the method of creation or how man and woman were created. We are only saying that God created man and then woman. According to God’s mind, He really wanted us to relate on a 50-50 basis. I want to thank the male Members of this House. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I take this opportunity to thank male Members of this House. Previous Houses have never supported this rule. Our male Members of Parliament have really supported us. I thank them and may God bless them. There is a saying that that behind every successful man there is a woman. We want this House to be successful. We want more women to be in this House so that it can succeed. We have seen very many countries which have achieved the two-thirds gender rule. The time has come for Kenya to have more women in ... view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Yes. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I oppose the amendment on Clause 29 (b) that the words “one year” be substituted with “six months.” Land matters require time and reducing time will lead to making decisions which can affect the community. So, I oppose this amendment so that it can read as “one year” and not “six months.” view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the amendment to this Motion. The promotion of clean environment is key to good health because we need to live in a clean environment. This one can solve very many problems because when we have an environment which is conducive--- view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I want to contribute to the Motion. view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute. I want to support this Motion on promotion of clean environment because we have seen that is the cause of very many problems in our country. I feel that this one can only be achieved if everybody participates. It is a matter of self-discipline on how we can keep our environment clean. We have seen very many countries whose environment is very clean. In most cases, it is just a matter of waste management. How are we going to manage waste because Members are saying that we ... view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Again, we need to recycle whatever waste we have. Some materials can be useful if they are recycled. So, even if we set aside a day for cleaning, we cannot say that we will be cleaning once in a month because this should be a daily activity to keep our environment clean. We need to ensure that all those vehicles which are polluting the environment are not on the road. I am really supporting this Motion, but we need to make sure that we check the cause of pollution in our country. We have seen other countries like Rwanda and ... view
