  • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: bare land and, therefore, a lot of soil erosion. It is in such areas that crops do not do well even if there is rainfall. So, I support this Bill and feel that it should be implemented without delay. We want to make sure that the country has enough food, so that we do not import food. I take this opportunity to support the Bill and thank the Mover very much. This is a good and right way for the country. view

  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. First, I would like to correct my names. My name is Winnie Njuguna and not B.N. Nyaga. Hon. It has really over-stayed ... view

  • 13 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I want to join my fellow colleagues and condemn the vice that is happening throughout the country. First, I want to send my condolences to the Member for Nyakach who lost his father and mother. Since he is saying that he is still being threatened, he should be given more security, so that his life is not in danger. It should be taken seriously. I come from Kirinyaga which has been named as a hot-spot for kidnappings and killings. This is very serious. Up to now, nothing is ... view
  • 9 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Mine is to support the amendments to this Act. We need to make sure that this insurance is getting to the beneficiaries in times of compensation. In most cases, the claimants of the money from insurance firms are lawyers. They end up “eating” most of the money. It is important that there is another way of compensating the victims. This is mostly a problem when it comes to road accidents; cars are damaged and people die, but when it comes to compensation there is a big problem. This is a good thing to be ... view
