  • 21 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister seems to be reading a Ministerial Statement instead of answering specific questions that are being asked! Is he in order? view
  • 9 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, apart from the problem of non-completion of such projects on time, which the Assistant Minister is trying to explain, what is the Ministry doing to ensure that the original specifications and standards of the project are adhered to? In the City there are so many projects done but within six weeks, they are worn out. view

So, I want to highly comment the Ministry. However, there are two issues which need to be attended to. view

The second issue has to do with the welfare and needs of the members of the SACCO, which include giving loans and assisting members to meet burial expenses and the like. • 8 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I just want an assurance from the Minister with regard to the trends and changes that are taking place at the Ministry. It should be more proactive so that we do not keep on waiting every time for the Ministry to tell us that there are Kriegler and Cockar Commissions. We do not want to hear that. Could she assure this House that they are going to be more proactive from now? view
  • 7 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for the opportunity to support this very important Vote for the Ministry of Education. As you have heard, this is a Ministry which is the pillar of any nation's growth, development and prosperity. So, it is very important that we all support the Ministry. I wanted to congratulate the Minister for being attentive and taking notes. The Minister, his Assistant, the Permanent Secretary and other officials in the Ministry are highly educated and trained people. It is time for the Ministry to develop some kind of criteria. Hon. Members have brought up issues in ... view
