  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is very straightforward State requirement. We will attempt to answer it within a week. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have a statement to make. view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will not be here. I have written to you that I will be going--- view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: No, Mr. Speaker, Sir. It is my personal statement and not Sen. Adan’s. view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, pursuant to Standing Order 45(2)(a), I rise to make a statement on an issue of a general topical concern regarding the plight of the Makonde people living in Kwale County. The Makonde people are natives of Mozambique and Tanzania where they enjoy full recognition as citizens of the two countries. Kenya hosts a significant population of the Makonde people residing in Kwale County, who first came into the country over 50 years ago as labourers. As I was coming, I saw they were demonstrating trying to reach State House. The population of Makonde has been increasing over ... view

Therefore, to give evidence that she is qualified, it is quite in order. view
  • 14 Sep 2016 in Senate: Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. Under normal circumstances, I would have just said I support all that has been said by the previous speakers. As I said earlier, in all the other four impeachments, I never commented and I never voted. The reason was, instead of me relying on evidence given to other people which came to me as hearsay, I have been in the Chamber today and yesterday to hear both the accused and the accusers giving their evidence and they are cross-examined. From the onset, I do not find that there is enough evidence in all the three ... view
  • 24 Aug 2016 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I support the Motion but with a rider. Apart from the gazetted forests which we knew many years ago, there are forests which were maintained by county councils and the communities who lived within the forested areas. Particularly, I would like to talk about Bota Forest. The last speaker talked about Boni Forest which is also part of the Garissa County. This forest is the only forest in the Northern Kenya and it extends up to Somalia. Unfortunately, while the local people have always coexisted with this forest without any damage - they only use the ... view
