  • 3 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, at the sitting of the Senate held on 23rd March 2016, Sen. M. Kajwang requested for a Statement on the Status of the National Security Communication System, particularly so to be informed on: (a) The objective of the total cost of the project. (b) The geographic coverage of the project and explain what benefits Kenya should expect from it. (c) The implementation of the project and procedure under the Public Procurement and Disposal Act used to select and award the contract. (d) The current status of the project and its expected date of completion. (e) The security ... view
  • 3 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, there is no point in Sen. M. Kajwang being worked up and picking on the Chairperson. The Chairperson is just a messenger who is relaying the message. In any case, not everything has been lost. This matter can still be pursued because the Statement says that it cannot be discussed in an open forum. We can summon the Cabinet Secretary and do it in camera, if you so wish, but there is no way I can improve on what has been said. view

I have come from an overseas trip and, therefore, it is in order for me to wear the sandals. However, this matter as far as payment to contractors is concerned is very serious. This is happening in many county governments including my own county government. A petition is lying in this House where the County Assembly of Garissa recommended that money should not be released as long as ... view
  • 2 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in support of Sen. Mositet, Sen. Bule did well to ask for this Statement. Unfortunately, the effect of drought will not be waiting until he comes to the House. I request that you allow the Statement to be issued so that we say something about it. view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this statement will require a rigorous investigation. This is because when my colleague was speaking, he indicated that they might have come from a different part of the country. In view of that, I think the Cabinet Secretary (CS) will require not less than three weeks --- view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, they are from Uganda. If they are from Uganda, they should go back to Uganda. view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: We will require three weeks to do a thorough investigation and bring a response to the House. view
  • 13 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I concur with him. It is not very pleasant to have these people squatting at the gate of the Parliament. We will communicate to the Cabinet Secretary (CS) concerned that there should be some interim arrangement for them to be relocated from where they are right now.
