Mr. Speaker, Sir, we are not aware of any conspiracy. My guess is that due to the recent retreat of all Cabinet Secretaries and the Huruma incident, maybe the response is ready but it requires his signature and he must have been out and very busy. In spite of that, we shall try everything possible to get the statement by Thursday next week. The electronic version of theSenate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, is the hon. Senator for Kakamega in order to pick on the Statement made by the Senator for Trans-Nzoia, when we know that during the colonial times, the Maasais were displaced from their land? It is not only the people of Trans-Nzoia who were displaced, but also the Maasais. He was talking in general terms.

19 Apr 2016 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am of the view that the petitioner is not doing justice due to the fact that, in spite of the problem elaborated by my colleague, Professor- --- I think being a chairman is not a permanent employment and therefore to deny somebody a chance simply because he or she is working somewhere else--- The fact that she has worked there and has the experience, I feel it is not fair to remove her from that job of chairperson.
