Thank you, Hon. Speaker. First of all, I support the Petition on animal feeds. As this Petition is being considered by the relevant Committee, I would like to urge the committees to find out about government policies in place that address issues of raw materials related to the production of key crops such as cotton and soya beans. In this country, we have many farmers who are disgruntled because they have no market for their products. How much of that is currently being produced in Kenya? If they consider that, it will help us understand the complexity of this pricing. ...

Hon. Deputy Speaker, I stand to support this Petition. I also request the Committee to investigate whether there have been previous allocations for specific pending bills. It is unfortunate to have a Government which is meant to create jobs killing jobs. A Government that is supposed to support the weak is killing even the strong. I support this Petition. Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me opportunity to contribute to this Bill. I want to start by saying that if there is an industry that has been messy, it is the industry of housing, especially in urban areas. A country that prospers cares for its people. We are talking of a framework with clear policy guidelines and also engagement between the landlord and the tenants. I support this Bill on the grounds that where there is order, we expect more prosperity. We expect more respect, harmony between the tenant and the landlord. The other thing that gives me pleasure ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me to contribute to this important Bill. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the face of this country globally. It needs to have the capacity and diligence it requires to be able to market our nation to other nations. It is for that reason that I stand to support this Bill. Unless as a nation we are visible out there, it will be very difficult for the world to know The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. that we exist. I know we have come a long way as a nation through various activities that have sold the country globally. One area that we have championed so much is tourism. As much as we continue focusing on tourism, we also need to explore other areas. It is for this reason that I find this Bill timely and I support it. While I support it, I have a number of reservations. One is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have the capacity it requires to deliver the image of the country out there. I would imagine ...

It is very surprising that, as a nation, we have been making efforts to change this country for the better but, most of the time, the complementary sectors that should pull hands together to lead us in that direction have actually been doing the opposite. If you look at the prices of fuel in Kenya over the last few months, you will be shocked that the price of petrol stands at Ksh129.13 per litre while the United States of America sells its fuel at US$1.199 per litre. Europe sells at €1.007 per litre, a price that is far lower than ...
