Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to also join my colleagues in commenting on the President’s Speech. It was a very good expose of the President’s management of the country in the past four year. I would like to commend the President particularly for the bold steps he has taken to address the issue of internal security. In the internal sector, he has done well. The level of crime has gone down. In Baringo, West Pokot and Turkana counties, and in other areas that are prone to cattle rustling, insecurity has been rampant. Overall, the ...

I want to address the issue of sports for the youth. The President talked about having built stadia. In my backyard of Olenguruone, there was a natural stadium. A contract was given by the central Government for the construction of a stadium. A contractor moved in and only dug the whole area. It is now four years down the line and nothing else has been done. As a country, we are not really putting the best use of our resources. I would like to give you the example of Olenguruone Stadium, which has been under construction for the last five years. Progress is hopeless and very low. I congratulate our daughter Faith Chepng’etich from Kuresoi South. We are proud of her. She practised under horrible conditions. Congratulations for our team. Thank you.

I want to thank the gracious lady for passionately moving this Motion. It is very important for this country. Kenya is becoming famous worldwide for churning out consultancy papers on management of situations like the one we are discussing. I believe that there is a body within Kenya which recommends how to manage this kind of situation but we are not very strong on implementation.
