Thank you, hon. Speaker, for allowing me to contribute to this particular Motion by hon. Millie and thank you for the three minutes. First, I want to say this is an area which fires human imagination so much and generally the human race fears. You can imagine one person contributing to a whole village or a whole nation. There is a concern and even in terms of race. However, the reality is that this is something that has to take place. We have hon. (Prof.) Nyikal and hon. (Dr.) Kibunguchy who have ably given the true position. I want to ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me this opportunity to also contribute in support of this Report. At the outset, I want to say that I am a Member of Pan-African Parliament from Kenya. Kenya has shown a very good example where gender rules the waves. Indeed, we have a delegation which is ably represented by three ladies, hon. Murkomen and I. The three ladies have acquainted themselves commendably well and they are recognized in that country as very good representatives. The Pan-African Parliament has always been a dream for Africans to have one government; one government for ...

There is an aspect also which has not been seen which is addressed in this Report; the issue of climate change and global warming. These are things which are being taken for granted in Kenya. We are now facing drought prolonged from December. We are now beginning to receive rainfall. Hon. Deputy Speaker, first and foremost, may I recognise the presence of pupils from Olengurueni DEB, who are here today? Secondly, I want to register my concern on the response that has been given by the Chair. This is one of those Statements which bring embarrassment to the Government and the people of Kenya. The contract was given by the Ministry of Local Government in November, 2012. The project was supposed to be completed within two years. It is currently being managed by the Ministry of Lands. Apparently, one arm of the Government does not know what is going on. ...

Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. May I ask that the issue be referred to the relevant Ministry; that is the former Ministry of Lands which owns and supervises this project and has got the money? Further, the contractor should be paid immediately, so that he can resume work. Thank you.

Thank you, hon. Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I rise to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, regarding the status of construction of stadia across the country, with special reference to Olenguruone Stadium in Kuresoi South. The stadium is the life of most people from Kuresoi Constituency, since it provides a good opportunity and environment for adequate training of national and international athletes. The construction stalled one year after construction began and it is reported that the contractor has been paid. The Chairperson should inquire and report on the following issues:- ...
