Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. Personally, I am very happy that we have the programme set out very clearly for us so that we can be organized and be better people. I would like to ask whether this programme is set or are we still in a position to bring in more Motions or Bills in the House? For me, it is good because we know our timings but I think we need to revisit the issue of December. I support the people who said that we need to relook at the programme and the dates ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for allowing me to contribute to this Motion. I would like to thank Sen. (Dr.) Machage for bringing this Motion. I am saying this because we serve together in the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare and we have taken this as a priority in the Committee. As I laud the presenter of this Motion, I do believe that all of us in this country, if we are really concerned, then the menace of drugs should have been put to rest when the National Agency for the Campaign against Drug Abuse (NACADA) was ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to second this Motion realizing that issues of health touch on every mwananchi in this country. The Mover of this Motion is a doctor trained in his own right. Therefore, he knows what he is bringing to this House. I serve in the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare where we were articulating these issues very well. We have come up with a very ample and a tentative summary of what is happening in the country. As he clarified, he is not targeting any region or any political party for any political purpose. This ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish you knew how difficult it is to sit on those seats, stand and sit down again, but I think that I have tried. Thank you for seeing me. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to say that you have made us proud this afternoon. I am feeling very confident. When there is a mob, you do not understand how the wind blows. That other House is very huge and the wind was almost blowing us. I want to congratulate and assure you that we will support you. I am sure that my vote was not wasted. ...

Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. It is clear that the road issue, indeed, in this country is a thorn in the flesh to all of us. Madam Temporary Speaker, I would like to commend the Mover of this Motion because it has come at a very appropriate moment. If there is anybody who has traversed Kenya--- We have the figures here and we have seen what it is and, indeed, it is now time that this Senate makes a difference. I believe the Committee on Energy, Roads and Transport should, as a matter of priority and urgency, tackle this issue. ...
