Mr. Speaker, Sir, Kericho County is a neighbour to Nandi County. Therefore, we have felt first-hand the burden of the residents of Nandi County having to travel all the way to Kericho to seek medical attention. I was at home over the weekend and met a couple of people from Nandi County seeking treatment. Therefore, I know how difficult it is for the residents of Nandi County during this time that the strike is ongoing. We are all aware that issues of health cannot be postponed or taken casually. In my opinion, the Committee on Health has treated this matter ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to also rise and support this amendment. This is an issue that many of us at times treat so casually and lightly.Perhaps, we have not addressed ourselves properly to it over a period of time because we consider it a preserve of only the disabled. As leaders, I think we are challenged many times in our thoughts to reason or imagine ourselves not only as individuals but to see the county or the constituency that we represent in its entirety. Last weekend, I attended a funeral service of a ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to make my contributions. I support the Bill. I do so, for the following three reasons. That leadership has passed from a certain individual and that people follow a particular party because they believe in particular ideals. This Bill---

Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this chance. I also rise to support this Bill which is important, especially to some of us who come from counties like Kericho where athletics is one of our homestay. It is worth noting that the first Kenyan to win an Olympic medal - I should have said this when the Senator for Kakamega was here because I heard him make a factual error that the first Kenyan to win an Olympic medal is someone whose name I cannot remember - was Wilson Kiprugut from Kericho. You can google to confirm ...

I support this Bill because it protects one of the greatest assets that this nation has. That is our success and dominance in athletics. Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is a very straight forward issue because it is a matter of law. We, as a House, are mandated to ensure that there is rule of law. We will be setting a bad precedence if we receive such a petition and then reduce our arguments to the level of asking ourselves whether an appointee is from a minority community, marginalized or a woman. The question that we should be asking is whether the law was followed in her appointment. We have a good Constitution, but the problem is that we do not want to follow it. ...
