  • 17 Apr 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to start by saying that I join my colleagues who have supported this very important Motion of Adjournment. As much as Wajir, where I come from is not within the radius of a number of counties that are near The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. • 1 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have heard the Assistant Minister say that provisions have been made and DOs will be posted in due course. My question is: Has he factored in the DOs for newly created districts where those divisions are yet to be created? The same Assistant Minister has already assured that those divisions will be created for example, Sololo District which was created in 2009 yet the divisions are yet to be created. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a)why Mr. Abdisirat Bundid Daar (P/No.63597) a CID officer at Thika Police Station, was dismissed from the police force; and, (b) what steps he will take to reinstate him to the force, considering that he had served for a period of 19 years and seven months with a clean record of service. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to thank the Assistant Minister for the response and I know hon. Ojode has been quick and very prompt in answering such questions but I would want to draw his attention to three areas in his response which are very important. This is actually going to the bottom of this matter. The first is the fact that on the 22nd April, 2010, the PPO Coast, who would have actually dealt with those officers directly had to seek the intermediary of a spiritual leader. Two, is the fact that this is not a new ... view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank hon. Ojode for the very good response in terms of asking me to ask the police officer to actually appeal. But I just want to bring to his attention the fact that there was no official letter for dismissal. All I got in my possession is actually a police signal signed by a Deputy Provincial Police Officer. Could the Assistant Minister provide me with the official dismissal letter if it exists in any way? I am ready to actually go by his advice. view
  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, one big problem with this Government is that it totally operates in an isolated way. That is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance alone. This particular Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development has such programmes as the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC). They can, in the same way, design appropriate strategies and policies to get businessmen and individuals to contribute to the welfare of Kenyans. Why can the Ministry not do that? view
  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am talking about long term development initiatives. I am not talking about ad hoc initiatives. Is the Minister in order not to answer the question about the long term solutions? view
  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think we have heard the Assistant Minister right. He has said that the Ministry cannot acquire land by force. I am surprised because it is like they are reneging on the promise they made to Kenyans. They had told the people that they will bring back the land that was irregularly acquired. But this afternoon, he has said that he does not have any power. Could he confirm that he is not able to pursue what the Government had promised Kenyans? view

  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will have to have the answer. If it can be brought immediately, I can allow him to proceed. view
