  • 2 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: In my constituency, we have women who are about 80 years old, but who do not have IDs. I interacted with them in January. If somebody has to inherit anything from her husband, it will be impossible due to lack of an ID. So, we need to be fast. I thank Hon. Chris Wamalwa for bringing this Motion. We need to enact it as soon as possible. I ask the people to register as voters upon getting IDs because voters cards are important and will help us. I believe we in Jubilee are coming back. view

This Bill says how we are going to provide any agreements which will be made by Parliament for people to get the natural resources. We need to be very careful when we make agreements for natural resources. What normally happens is that we get people to come and extract or mine natural resources and, ... view
  • 16 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: course within a forested area, which was given to the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK). We will need to know all those agreements. They should be brought to Parliament so that we know where we are as a country and as the host community. That is because at the moment, the host community is in the dark. It does not know the concession between ASK and the county government. There is a fight and when there is bitterness between the host community, the county government and others, it does not augur well for everybody. With those few remarks, I support ... view
  • 2 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I wish to support the adoption of Sessional Paper No.10 of 2014. In supporting it, I agree with what the Chairperson has said regarding the County Executive Committees (CECs). They are not very well informed. We introduced devolution, but probably they did not understand how to go about some of the aspects that we devolved. For example, the County Executive Committee on Environment in my county does not know what a riparian reserve is. They look for data on their own instead of going to the national Government or the agencies which are mandated to protect ... view
