  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Karithi, because his constituency neighbours mine. My constituency also neighbours Tharaka Constituency. The lower part of my constituency is a hardship area. There was a time when we used to get relief food. I want to support my colleague and say here in front of teachers from his constituency that I have heard many times Hon. Karithi speaking. It should be removed from the HANSARD that he does not speak because I have heard him speak many times. If the hardship allowance is going to be given, we should have fairness in it. Many of our constituencies border the hardship ... view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Tharaka get hardship allowance and my schools do not get it. I believe the lower part of my constituency should be gazetted as hardship area. Thank you. view

  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you. I oppose this amendment. I understand where Mheshimiwa Millie is coming from. The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) celebrates their Sabbath Day on Saturdays. However, for Muslims, Friday is a holiday as well. So, when we keep the cleaning on a Friday, we will not work. So, I oppose this amendment and, maybe, we can have another day which I do not know, but it cannot be Saturday or Sunday. It should not even be Friday. So, we have to look for another day but not a Friday and so, I oppose this amendment. view
  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to second the amendment from Friday to Thursday. I thank Mhe . Millie for understanding the Muslim religion. She has constituents who are Muslims. My constituency is 95 per cent Christian and more than half are voters from SDA. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I second. view

  • 24 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker and the Deputy Leader of the Majority Party. I support the Division of Revenue Bill but with some riders. Governors need to take care of this money. This is Kenyan money. In my county of Meru, our Governor is always complaining that the Members of Parliament do not fight for money to come to the counties. We should be told how much money he has received up to now. We do not see any tangible development in our county. Our county has pending bills amounting to Kshs1.6 billion which cannot be accounted for in ... view
  • 17 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I support the Chairperson in the Long Title because it says exactly what the Bill is about. view
  • 10 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. At the outset, I congratulate Hon. Jude Njomo. Sometimes, he has been called “Judy”. I do not know if he needs to change his name. This issue of interest rates is very pertinent in this country. view
