• 29 Apr 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I heard Hon. Sabina, who started by saying that the President had formed the Special Committee. It is this very House that gave life to that Committee. However, through various other media sources, the Committee has been indicating that they are going to be audited by Delloitte and Touché which is not as per the rules and regulations governing any particular institute or organisation that is being given money by public coffers. Makali, have rightfully put it, this particular Railway Levy Fund was there to ensure that this country does not get burdened by its debt. I would have appreciated that if this had come with an auspice that thereafter, the railway will return the money back to the Railway Levy Fund. I see nothing wrong at all in that. The grave concern is for those who want to voluntarily come back home to be allowed to do so and be facilitated after being screened at the point of exit and entry.
