  • 7 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute. I stand to support the proposed appointment of Hon. Ochieng’ Mbeo. I sincerely thank the President for settling for Hon. Mbeo after looking at those Kenyans who were interested in taking this job. If you look at his experience, qualifications and indigenous livelihood, he is the best person who fits this position. The President must have looked at many other Kenyans before settling on Hon. Ochieng’ Mbeo. I sincerely thank the President. Hon. Mbeo will be appointed because Parliament will unanimously give him a hand. He should ... view

  • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to oppose the Bill. My brother, Hon. Chris, has done a lot of work and I am sure he has very good intentions. If this Bill becomes law, it cannot be admissible. If we are establishing an institution for directors, then there should be qualifications that will cut across. If the Bill becomes law, we will have some qualifications for all directors in the country. This cannot be admissible at the end. I know of very successful companies in the country which are run by directors who have never stepped in a classroom. ... view

  • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: On the other hand, there is no profession where you grow and become a director. I was the director of programmes for an international company for five years, but I am an agriculturalist. When I vacated that position, it was given to a social scientist and later to a lawyer. This means that there are no specific professions that can be developed to grow into directors. Therefore, anybody with that efficiency, ... view

  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have been waiting for this opportunity since 9.00 O’clock. I rise to contribute to the Presidential Address. I have been looking at three issues; the first one being the unity of this country. That is why the President said we are very united. Unfortunately, I do not agree with him. If you look at the administrative structure and the security system of this county, you will find different part of this country is treated differently. An incident happened in Mandera a few weeks ago where Cuban doctors, due to our weak security, were ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: When we talk about development or the country being stronger, I think we were stronger in 1963. In 1963, anybody who wanted to go to school could go and finish his studies. Anybody who became sick could go to the nearest dispensary and get treatment free of charge and become well to serve this nation. In 1963, Kenyans were very united except the Northern Frontier Districts which were also very united amongst themselves although they were cut off from the rest of the country. Unfortunately today, if a regional commissioner is posted to Rift Valley the first question we will ... view
