I happen to come from one of the areas in this country where drought is a recurring problem and an issue. It is a situation that usually costs lives of people as well as their livelihoods in terms of livestock. view
• 12 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: The passage of this Bill will go a long way in reinforcing the National Drought Management Authority and, therefore, creating an opportunity or an organisation that can get the resources required to dedicate its work towards ensuring that lives are saved during the drought season. It is good that we have rains now in most parts of the country, but I can tell you that even when the rains have come, herdsmen are walking with barely a third of their stocks in hand.
