The National Treasury used enormous resources, again, close to Kshs100 million to prepare for the elections. Again, on the eve of the by-election, the Court of Appeal upheld the election of hon. Speaker, that does not send a signal of a reformed Judiciary; that does not send a signal that the Judiciary is working together under the able leadership of Dr. Willy Mutunga. It is food for thought. I am sure that Members in this House are greatly concerned. If the Judiciary wants us to respect the three arms of the Government then we expect, just like in Parliament where we have the Speaker who is the Chair of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), not to give inconsistent and contradictory communication. view
• 13 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: We cannot have a Judiciary where one hand nullifies an election and the other one upholds the election. This is the case and yet the IEBC has used enormous resources that belong to taxpayers. This is food for thought.
