In fact, I think that every single Kenyan is a victim to the poor conditions in the medical field in terms of wrong decisions and medical and surgical errors. The level of expertise that can be given in some areas has not really been given adequately. This will encourage some sort of knowledge-sharing that might even indicate what the problem is and how it can be dealt with. It will indicate where gaps are and also help to ensure that prevention measures are put in place. Maybe the statistics of one out of five might not be such an unrealistic figure because one might ask how many of these people die as a result of not having been given adequate care especially when they go to seek health services. We need to also look at these incidents on a case by case basis and be able to give recommendations and suggestions but I think public feedback will help to create more accountability.
