• 21 Apr 2020 in Senate: masks from. It was alarming the other day when it was seen on social media that there is a possibility of these masks being recycled. On health issues generally, the issue of quarantine and social distancing is also important; ensuring that, that is maintained very clearly. I have already mentioned about the cash transfers, and the other issue is the stimulus package for micro, small and medium sized enterprises. That needs to be infused. I support that the Senate adopts the reports of the Committee on Roads and Transportation on the visit to the Malaba International Border and the inspection visit and familiarization of the Kibwezi-Athi-Mutomo-Kitui Road project in Kitui County, laid on the Table of the Senate on Wednesday, 4th December, 2019. • 12 Mar 2020 in Senate: I remember when we were doing public participation on The Natural Resources (Benefit Sharing) Bill, we also went to Kitui. We went to a river where there was a lot of extraction of soil. I can clearly visualize the communities. I sometimes feel sorry about the work we do in committees because I can see that they have also made recommendations. When those people tell us their problems, they do so knowing that a committee, in this case the Committee on Roads and Transportation, will help them solve their problems. They also require that the road contractors adhere to the terms of the NEMA license while doing construction. That is also important. Lastly, they demand that the KeNHA should give a full disclosure of the total cost of the project.
