Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 57 of the Bill be amended in paragraph (b) by deleting the proposed new subsection (2) and substituting therefor the following new subsection− “(2) A lease or licence for public land shall be issued by the Commission and shall be registered by the Chief Lands Registrar.” The reason for this is that we are putting the powers of the National Land Commission (NLC) because they are the ones to allocate public land. We are saying that the NLC must be given its role according to the Constitution. view
