• 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. The Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare respects the disabled society. They are part and parcel of our society. But we can only prosecute a petition which is before us. I will confirm to you that Petition has not yet reached us. As soon as it reaches us, we will prosecute it as quickly as possible. Speaker, I, the undersigned, on behalf of residents of Garsen Constituency, draw the attention of the House to the following: THAT, on 24th April 2018, KenGen released excess water from their Masinga Dam leading to massive flooding downstream. THAT, the water which was released without adequate notice has affected the livelihoods of the residents living along and lower areas of the River Tana.
