• 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Kuhusu elimu, kuna vyuo vikuu ambavyo viko katika haya maeneo ambayo yaliachwa nyuma. Hawana mafunzo ya ziada kama vile miji mikubwa kama hapa Nairobi na Mombasa. Utakuta kwamba katika hii Bajeti hivi vyuo vikuu vimepatiwa hela kidogo. Inakuwa vigumu sana kwa wale ambao wanaviongoza kuvishughulikia. Hata vingine baada ya muda mfupi labda vitaporomoka. The contents of this Motion are serious as they touch on cleanliness, protection, management and conservation of the environment. In my own opinion, if at all there will be the 11th commandment apart from the 10, it will be on the environment. • 30 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: normally do things, but somewhere on the street, we always forget what we planned and how the activities are supposed to follow sequentially. As I have said, planning is what commands our daily activities. They go hand in hand. That is why we have messed up all over. As I speak, most of our animals are becoming extinct simply because of our settlement programmes which are very poor. We do not want to manage the environment. • 30 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: We have a Government policy on irrigation. If we could have managed our environment well, I am sure we could still be having rains naturally as it used to be, but because we have mismanaged our environment, we are in a mess. We have to come up with a policy, so that we can have sustainable food production for our people. After the deliberation of this Motion, the implementation team should be serious. We normally legislate here, but at the end of the day, nothing happens outside there. I support the Motion. view

• 23 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Lifestyles have over time really changed both medically and environmentally. Therefore, it is better for us to change the way we combat these issues. Due to change in lifestyle, diseases like cancer, diabetes and many others have increased. Therefore, it is high time we came up with a comprehensive programme to put the situation under control. Detecting cancer during its early stages can highly assist in alleviating the situation. Statistics given are alarming. • 23 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Training one person per county in oncology with a view to setting up cancer treatment centres in the counties will go a long way in addressing some cases because the distances involved are quite long. The principles of the Constitution got it very well with these constituents. For somebody from Mwatate Constituency in Taita Taveta County or Lamu County, KNH is quite far. Therefore, implementing this Motion will be cost-effective to the Government and its people. view
