• 25 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Ministry is very much sensitive to the request that has been made by the hon. Member. However, I would like to remind him that the Ministry of Lands is not the only one that has powers to give the waiver to those farmers. It is a collective decision which involves the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture. I want to undertake to see to it that these people are assisted by way of waiver. We will do it as a Ministry, but it still depends on a collective decision. So, we will assist them. view

However, this is not going to apply across the country. We will consider the poverty levels of people and situations as they arise. I think we have done so well, especially in Coast Province and the hon. Member should not complain. view
