  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman. Mine is a point of procedure because I heard the hon. Attorney-General say that there is a new clause that he wanted inserted. I thought that this could be a further amendment to an amendment or something like that. Otherwise, if it is a new clause, I doubt whether it will--- view
  • 12 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity. I want to join my colleagues in conveying my condolences to the families of the bereaved. Without repeating what other hon. Members have said, I have worked in the aviation industry and I know very well that the aviation industry ought to be one of the safest modes of transport. However, given the history in this Tenth Parliament---- We have now had two incidents or accidents where we have lost Members of this House. In the Ninth Parliament we had another one. • 5 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for taking that initiative for cross border power supply. You have heard the Assistant Minister say that he is still investigating under what circumstances the funds were withdrawn from that road. Will I be in order to request the Chair that the Assistant Minister goes back to investigate and comes back with an adequate response to this Question? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that Ms. Saida Hussein, a teacher at Kilimani Primary School in Isiolo, was shot dead by a police officer on 28th March, 2012? (b) What action has the Minister taken against the officer? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, of late, Isiolo has been prone to clashes. The police officers ought to be the ones to protect citizens against attacks by bandits. The place where the Assistant Minister has said goats were reported to have been stolen is 15 kilometres away from where this incident took place. This was a teacher who had left her classes and she was in her house. According to post a postmortem report she was shot at a very close range. So, this had nothing to do with what the Assistant Minister is saying. Could the Assistant Minister explain exactly what ... view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, looking at this report, this teacher was shot at a very close range. She was in the house – in her own house! view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was just trying to confirm this and then go to my point. Could the Assistant Minister, now that the police cannot investigate themselves, institute an independent investigation team that will come out with an independent report on this matter? view
