  • 15 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The extension of the railway line to Nanyuki is very important for farm produce and other livestock products. Could the Assistant Minister tell us exactly how much money has been set aside for the repair works and when does he expect that to be completed? view
  • 8 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the executive power rests with the President. For all the other institutions, it is delegated. Now that the Council is not properly in place, could the Assistant Minister ensure that he uses that authority to take appropriate action without any further delay? view
  • 8 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The airline industry is very sensitive. I have had the privilege of being in that boardroom and the Minister has to be very careful because when he says that they are among the best paid in the world, then CBA alone is not sufficient to explain that. Would I be in order to ask the Minister to produce comparative figures so that we can be able to compare it against his statement? I want to emphasize that I had the opportunity to be the chief negotiator with the pilots at Kenya ... view
  • 8 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of information, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, lives of Kenyans and their security is very important. Since the Prime Minister gave directives yesterday on the safety of Mr. Godana, it is now nearly 24 hours. On matters of security, the Office of the President needs to move with speed and diligence to give us a conclusive matter. Could he undertake to report to this House next Tuesday, on the conclusive actions he has taken to ensure the safety of Mr. Godana? view
  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to applaud you for the ruling or the direction that you gave this evening, particularly so because this matter is before the court. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the decision of the Interim Independent Boundaries Review Commission (IIBRC) satisfied many; many citizens of this country and many hon. Members of this House. But, equally, quite a substantial number of citizens were dissatisfied and they went to court. This House is very much aware of the principle of separation of powers between the courts and the legislature, which we must be at the forefront to respect. view

  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am sorry to interrupt at this point but when Dr. Kilemi Mwiria, whom you have just sent out of the House, rose on a point of order, he mentioned hon. Bahari instead of the Member for Bahari. Mr. Bahari did not make any mistake. For purposes of record, I will request that, that part be expunged from the HANSARD of this House. view
  • 23 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. This is a very important matter! Is the Minister in order not to clearly or categorically come out because the issue in question as far as this Ministerial Statement is concerned is about the safety of the people who use the waterways when there is an accident? Is the Minister in order not to categorically come out and, in the process, confuse the issue of patrol and safety? That is a completely different matter? view
