  • 11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, if you listen to the answer given by the Minister, these invigilators did their job in November/December last year. We are now in August 2011. Before they are recruited, there is a structure that goes through the office that shows who comes from where. Is it fair for the Ministry to delay payment to these teachers who worked in November/December last year? The Minister has said that they are few whereas they did the job. What is the rationale of delaying the payment for eight months? view
  • 31 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is surprising to hear the Assistant Minister saying that the Kenya Government is trying to woe the Ugandan Government to move out its forces. Could he tell us who owns these islands? If they are owned by Kenya, why has he not reclaimed them by force? view
  • 6 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you have seen the interest that the House has taken in this Question. The last sentence of the answer, a copy of which you have, says, and I read:- “A Ruiru Inquest File No.47/2010 was opened and the matter is under investigation by police and officers from CID Nairobi. Appropriate action will be taken once investigations are complete.” Those two brothers; Peter Irungu and John Kamuri, and their cousin, Kenneth Waitwika, who was also eliminated on 11th March, 2011--- Mr. Waitwika was supposed to go to court on 6th May to give evidence. He was picked from ... view

  • 24 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, most of the IDPs that we know of is as a result of the 2008 violence and these so-called IDPs used to have land and property in the places where they came from. Is the Minister going to compensate the IDPs for the development that they had already put in their former land or what is going to happen and who is holding this land at present? view
  • 24 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate the answer given by the Minister, assuming that Mr. Chege Gathumuni did not die from diarrhea, I observe that most shopping centres in the rural areas are very untidy and unkempt. Could she confirm that the Ministry has enough public health inspectors to go round the country making sure that eating places in the rural areas are clean and well kept? view
  • 16 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. We have all listened to the Minister narrating the old stories we have heard. Nairobi has become a butchery for young people from Central Kenya. Every weekend, there are burials and when the burials are taking place, the relatives are harassed by the same police. Could the Minister assure this House that these kind of killings will not continue, and that relatives will not be harassed during burials, where nobody tells us who kills these boys? view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us how many students are likely to be registered and at what cost? Has he budgeted for that cost? view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I asked the Assistant Minister to provide the House with the number of students and pupils that he expects to register, at what cost and whether he has budgeted for that cost. view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has not answered my question. Those are students in schools and the Ministry is expected to incur some expenditure. How come he is not ready to suspend that requirement and yet, he does not understand or know how much it is going to cost the Government? view
