  • 16 Jul 2013 in Senate: Bw. Naibu Spika, nakushukuru sana. Kwanza, ningependa kumwambia mwenzangu, Sen. Bw. Naibu Spika, naunga mkono Hoja hii. view
  • 16 Jul 2013 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I humbly request that pursuant to Standing Order No.51 (3), you defer the voting to tomorrow, at 3.00 p.m. view
  • 16 Jul 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I also rise to support the Mover of the Motion and to congratulate her for reminding us today that it is important to remember the late Michuki. It is during the time of the late Michuki as the Minister for Environment that we saw this country redevelop environmental policies to ensure that we are able to safeguard the rivers and river beds. Madam Temporary Speaker, you remember you were also an Assistant Minister at that time. You both joined hands together to make sure that we could safeguard Nairobi River. Again, I know today that ... view
  • 11 Jul 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I beg to move the following Motion:- The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 11 Jul 2013 in Senate: Asante, Bi.
  • 11 Jul 2013 in Senate: Asante, Bi.
  • 10 Jul 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- THAT, aware that unemployment is one of the major causes of insecurity and moral decadence in this country; noting with concern that the youth, who are the backbone of our society, are the most affected and that as a result many of them have become disillusioned and hopeless; noting further that assisting the youth to access employment would contribute towards the attainment of economic and social rights enshrined in Article 43 of the Constitution of Kenya; aware that Section 13 of the National Youth Service Act, Cap. 208, ... view
  • 10 Jul 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I stand to support this Motion. I want to start by saying that one of the challenges we have faced in this country is that we look at issues based on our communities. You find that if I am an agriculturalist, then I will have to fight for what is so much on my side and I will forget that there is something called livestock. When it comes to business, I will leave the pastoralists to deal with the livestock but I will be the one to go to north eastern and buy the cattle and come ... view
  • 10 Jul 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I second the amendment knowing very well this now becomes a national issue. It does not only affect the counties. This is something that will help the whole country and, indeed, the 47 counties are the beneficiaries of the same. I just want to say the amendment makes us now look at the Galana Ranch that we had in Malindi those days and how we can rebuild as we work with the Government. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained ... view
  • 9 Jul 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support the Motion putting in mind that climate change is here with us. We know the areas which have practiced agriculture for long in our country are now suffering. It is time that we looked at other virgin areas that we have not used so that we start building the agricultural sector. When we talk about agriculture, we are talking about women because 70 per cent of this country depends on agriculture. Women are the ones who are left in every area within our rural homes to deal with agriculture. ... view
