Instead, a name is being shoved down our throats. As a region, we feel short-changed and I am asking this Parliament to consider our plight. We have other nominees who were interviewed and they qualify to be members of this Committee. We have retiring teachers who he has said earn about Kshs20,000, while the ones who are supposed to be employed will earn may be Kshs7,000. Why is it difficulty for the Government to employ those teachers at the lower salary scale to replace those who have retired? view

  • 3 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, when the Minister was talking about petrol having been supplied to various parts of this country, he mentioned that it was supplied to Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu. He forgot to mention Mombasa. Could he confirm whether Mombasa and its environs, including Kilifi, have the petrol which has been out of stock for some time now? Since petrol comes to this country through Mombasa, it will be unfair for it to be supplied upcountry while we in Mombasa lose out. view
